Southern California Pool Party Season – Better Late Than Never

Well here we are as everyone has been asked to stay at home since March 16th, 2020 in an effort to flatten the COVID-19 curve all across the country. Here in Los Angeles, the stay at home order has been extended until May 15th, 2020 which has received fierce opposition from so many. Frustrations are clearly palpable.

We are sincerely hoping that all the efforts being made will allow all of us to get back to work and to return to normal. It would appear that by all efforts, the curve is nothing but a small hump which is very good news. It should also be noted that as we approach the peak this coming week (4/13 – 4/19), the forecasts have all been wrong as we see lower numbers of COVID-19 deaths.

So, the Southern California pool party season will be late this year but we say better late then never. It is unfortunate that all of our March/April bookings and contracts either cancelled or postponed until things get back to normal. The May bookings and contracts have started to follow suit however, June looks to be very strong and going forward.

As we talk to event planners and moms all over the region, the general consensus is that as a result of the closures and kids being at home for so long that many are looking forward to hosting pool parties to help with the frustrations and the pent up energy from being locked down for so long. People and kids want to and need to let off some steam so what better way to do that than with a pool party.

We have made preparations to handle the flood of bookings as the stay at home orders are set to be eased at some point by hiring and training additional lifeguards. We are continuing to recruit Southern California lifeguards as we will most likely be one of the only few providers left standing after all is said and done. We want to make sure that we handle all requests coming in and not to turn anyone away.

We are encouraging event professionals and moms to schedule those tentative pool parties for June and beyond. We want everyone to be optimistic and not lose hope that this will all be over. We will all get through this!! We are all in this together!!
